Limited Phone Support this Week due to Hurricane Irene

Fairfield, New Jersey is experiencing record flooding and police have ordered a mandatory evacuation.  Our building is surrounded by water, but the interior has not been breeched and we do not expect this to happen. Our data lines, phone lines, and power continue to function, allowing us to operate Zeckhausen Racing remotely.

At this time, we are working with suppliers to drop-ship domestic orders.  International orders and parts made by Zeckhausen Racing, such as CDVs, will be shipped when we are able to safely return to the building.  We anticipate returning on Tuesday, September 6.  We will respond to phone messages as we are able, but email is the best way to reach us.  Please use [email protected] for all requests.

Thank you for your patience as we work to restore the level of service you have become used to over the years.  And we wish the best for our customers in the affected areas, as they struggle to return their lives and businesses to normal.  We will get through this!

New!  StopTech Sport, Power Alloy & Cryo Slot rotors for Corvette C6 Z06, Grand Sport & Z51

One of the most frequent complaints among Corvette C6 Z06, Grand Sport and Z51 owners who track their cars is that the factory drilled rotors crack too easily, often in just a few track days.  Not everyone can afford to spend thousands of dollars for a StopTech big brake upgrade, and aftermarket (non-drilled) rotor choices have been slim - until now.  Centric Parts now offers StopTech Sport slotted, Cryo Slot cryogenically treated, and Power Alloy plain rotors for these applications.  Front and rear rotors are in stock now!  Click here for pricing and other details.

Zeckhausen Racing introduces Carbone Lorraine (CL) Race Pads

Dave Z. testing CL RC6E endurance race pads at New Hampshire International Speedway in the rain.

Most brake pads are formed from fibers and organic materials bonded together by resins. CL Brakes Sintered Pads, made by Mersen (formerly Carbone Lorraine) in France, begin as powdered iron, bronze, and copper, mixed with graphite, carbon and other materials. The mix is compressed to form a "puck" of friction material, then brazed onto a backing plate at 1800 degrees F. The resulting pads are characterized by a consistently high coefficient of friction, stability at high temperatures, and unusually low wear rates.

CL Brakes originally created sintered brake materials for tanks, helicopters, and airplanes, as well as high speed freight and passenger trains like France's TGV. CL Brakes are now being used successfully at the highest levels of motorsport, including World Rally Championship (WRC) and NASCAR Sprint Cup. CL pads are available for a limited number of OEM brake calipers and many popular aftermarket calipers, such as StopTech and Brembo.  Call for availability or click here to order on-line.

Centric Fleet Performance Brake Pads for Trucks/SUVs Released

Centric Parts, the parent company of StopTech and StopTech Sport, today announced new high-performance brake pads for heavy-duty applications, based on the same Para Aramid technology as the wildly popular StopTech Street Performance Pads.  These pads are in stock now and available for same-day shipping.

Centric Fleet Performance brake pads are formulated for use in high heat and repeat-stop situations, ideal for towing or for police and emergency vehicles. Positive molded, assuring consistent density and resulting in even wear characteristics and performance. Mechanically attached shims for reduced noise from pad vibration. Scorched at the factory to remove impurities and pre-burnish the pads for faster break-in.  If you need better stopping power for your heavy duty vehicle, give these new pads a try!

NEW - StopTech Street Performance Brake Pads

Normally our news page describes Zeckhausen Racing milestones.  But in this case, I'm so excited about a new product, I'm going to tell you about it here.

For the last year, StopTech has included their own brand of brake pads, StopTech Street Performance, in their big brake kits. These are fantastic pads, offering a combination of good bite, high friction, low noise, medium dust, and street & track capability. They have an astonishingly high maximum operating temperature.  Over the last six months, they've released these pads in shapes for many OEM applications, and the response from our customers has been universally positive.

I have StopTech Street Performance pads on my own 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8, my wife's 2007 Corvette Z51, and my 2001 BMW 540i.  My business partner has them on his 2009 BMW 335xi and 2004 Audi S4, my sales associate has them on his Ford Mustang, my IT guy has them on his Dodge Neon, and my warehouse manager put them on his dad's Honda minivan.  The list is much longer, but I didn't want to bore you!

For years, we've been telling people there's no such thing as a single brake pad that can provide acceptable performance on the track without also driving you crazy on the street with noise and dust. Those days are over. These new StopTech Street Performance brake pads rock!  They are my personal favorite street pads, regardless of price, and the price is amazingly low.  Try these out today!

UPDATE - April 12, 2010

I spent the day at Monticello Motor Club's new 3.7 mile race course with the Corvette Z51 and was unable to fade these pads, despite this being a very heavy braking track.  My 1st-hand experience matches our customer feedback.  I remain very impressed.

Zeckhausen Racing has relocated!

Zeckhausen Racing has moved from our 80,000 square foot industrial park facility in Florham Park, New Jersey to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Fairfield, NJ, which we share with our parent company Unique Photo.  (You can see their latest TV commercial here.  Yes, that is Dave Z. sitting in the coffee bar, 20 seconds into the commercial!)  The new location, at 123 Route 46 West, is an easy drive from New York City, Connecticut and most of New Jersey.  At the same time, we're upgrading our enterprise management system, barcoding all parts and modernizing our parts distribution and warehousing.  You'll see lots of changes at Zeckhausen Racing in 2008, all to help us serve our customers better and manage our rapid growth without sacrificing our famous customer service.

Grand-AM GT Classic Races at Lime Rock Park

David and Maria Zeckhausen spent Memorial Day weekend enjoying the Grand-AM GT Classic races at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, thanks to a pair of VIP passes from StopTech.  We had full access to the pits, even during the races, allowing us to get close-up to all the action.  Some photos of the weekend activity may be found here: Race Weekend Review

Corvette Advanced Driving School at Spring Mountain, Nevada

Zeckhausen Racing closed for the week so Dave and Maria Zeckhausen could attend the Corvette Advanced Driving School at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada.  Spring Mountain uses current year Corvette Z51 and Z06 models.  Since Maria just acquired a 2007 Corvette Z51 (a birthday surprise!), this gave her the opportunity to become more proficient in her new car before the start of the 2007 track season.  Many of our track sessions took place in the 505 hp Corvette Z06, which is one of the world's fastest and most powerful sports cars.

We both had a great time and heartily recommend this school to anyone who wishes to hone their track skills in a powerful, rear wheel drive sports car.  The staff and instructors at Spring Mountain are world class and the facilities are second to none.  Of all the driving and racing schools we've attended over the years, this provided the most seat time (over 300 miles!) with a reasonable mix of classroom sessions.

Zeckhausen Racing is StopTech's Top Retailer for 2006

For the fourth year in a row, Zeckhausen Racing was StopTech's top retailer.  As we expand later this year into a larger facility, we plan to cement that position again for 2007 by continuing to offer the best customer service, technical advice and quality products - but on a much larger scale.  Thanks again to our loyal customers for making this all possible!

Noble Extreme Drive at Lime Rock Park

Zeckhausen Racing closed for the day so Dave Zeckhausen could take advantage of a generous offer by Atlantic Sports Car Company and 1G Racing to drive the Noble M12 and M400 at Lime Rock Park race track.  Accompanying Dave in the passenger seat, to help fine tune his racing line, was Mark DaVia, three-time (consecutive!) winner of the Cannonball One Lap of America race. (2nd photo)

The Noble is one of the best handling road legal cars in the world, with a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds and is capable of lapping Lime Rock Park in under one minute on street tires.  This is the most capable and exhilarating road car Zeckhausen Racing has ever experienced at the track and is a must-have for the addicted (and affluent) track junkie.  We give it two thumbs up!  AutoWeek Magazine agrees, publishing rave reviews in a cover story in the December 11, 2006 edition.

SRT Track Experience at Lime Rock Park

Zeckhausen Racing closed to take advantage of the SRT Track Experience at Lime Rock Park race track in Connecticut.  SRT owners were invited by Daimler-Chrysler to come to the track and spend a day driving the SRT6 Crossfire, SRT8 Charger, Magnum, and 300C (even the SRT8 Jeep!) at speed on the race track.  Senior instructors from Skip Barber Racing School were on hand to provide coaching and keep the novices out of trouble.  It was a great way for Daimler-Chrysler to show off the high speed capabilities of their SRT vehicles and a nice break from the normal daily office routine.
